The long days of the summer break can seem to stretch out ahead of you forever. However, unless it’s your first year enjoying them, you’ll know that all that free time can be gone in a flash if you don’t make the most of it.
Here are some ideas to help you make the most of your summer break.
Get some experience
Taking on some work experience can be a valuable experience in more ways than one. It can give you a taste of the working world, and possibly give you an insight into your chosen field. Not only will it look great when applying for jobs, it can also have the advantage of adding some money to your coffers.
Learn something new
You’ve been learning all year, but a change of pace and subject can be refreshing as well. If you have a passion for something outside of your course, this could be the time to pursue it. You’ll get fulfilment out of it, it may aid you in unexpected ways in your uni course, and it can help to round out a CV.
Take a break
Take a genuine break if you need it. Putting your all into your uni classes can be stressful. While there might be pressure to use every day of your ‘free time’ productively, it won’t help anything if you burn out. Sometimes everyone needs a real break from things. Whether that means physically getting away from it all and taking a trip, or just taking some time out to concentrate on your wellbeing.
Get organised
Make sure you have accommodation sorted for next year. If there are things you have been putting off what with the craziness of the end of the year, get them done now. The sooner they are sorted, the less you will have to stress about them. Feel free to get in touch with us at City Lets Lincoln for any required accommodation in Lincoln and we’ll do our best to help you out.
Remember that a good summer break is subjective. Everyone has different priorities, and maybe this is one way of clarifying what yours are. Whatever your choices, we hope you have a good summer break, and a great academic year to come!
