If you’re a second or final year student and from out of town, last August you may have been wondering what all the extravagant and funky costumes were all about!
Well its the Steampunk festival and its returning for another year and there’s still time to get involved. Taking place on the August bank holiday weekend, Sat 26th, Sun 27th & Mon 28th August it is free to the public and primarily takes place in the old town amongst the cobbled streets of the bail gate.
Lincoln boats the largest Steampunk festival in the world and participants travel from across the globe to tighten up their corsets, sport their latest top hats and display gadgets which only the imagination could spring to life. Taken from the Asylum Steampunks website the aim of the festival is to “combine art, literature, music, fashion, comedy and simple good fun”.
